Periodically changing your fees

Increasing your fees (Version 2.6t onwards)

When you want to change the prices that you charge for goods or services, the price change only takes effect for appointments or transactions that are created in the system after the price change has been made. So, if a patient is booked in for a course of treatment prior to price changes being made in the database, these will be recorded at the old price.

There are two ways of avoiding this. It is possible to either create a completely new set of goods and services alongside the existing ones, and book these against appointments after the fees increase will take effect, or to use this function to alter all appointments made after the given date to reflect the new price changes.

This works as follows:

The database contains a number of appointments.

Before

1 October 2003

Joe Bloggs

Treatment £25

15 October 2003

Joe Bloggs

Treatment £25

You decide to put prices up on 10 October and change the prices using Tools..Options..Services. If you do nothing else, the existing appointments will be charge as for the old prices, as above.

However, if you want the new prices to take effect on all appointments from 10 October onwards, Use this option, and if the cost of a Treatment went up to £27, the appointment book would change as follows:

After

1 October 2003

Joe Bloggs

Treatment £25

15 October 2003

Joe Bloggs

Treatment £27
